Violin with Maidstone label. Many of these violins were imported by Murdoch and Murdoch in around 1900 to provide instruments for working class students to learn to play. Bohemian violin £150
John A Morse, 1896 American made by a renowned violin maker who was also a postman. The violin has inscription inside in pencil saying that it was made 'in consideration of twenty bushel of potatoes'
Scottish fiddle made by A Reid, Kildrummy in Aberdeenshire 1821 Birdseye maple one piece back. Inked purpling and using made using similar woods and techniques to Alexander Murdoch, a prolific violin maker who lived in a nearby village.
